CheaPark ("the app", "we", "us") is a parking-price app for Tel Aviv-Yafo and Jerusalem, available for iPhone and Android. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with your information. It is written to be honest and short, because CheaPark's whole point is honesty.
CheaPark has no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and we run no server of our own. We never see your location or your settings. The one thing that leaves your phone is the text you type into the destination search box, which goes to Google to be turned into a place.
CheaPark asks for your location only while you are using the app, and only to:
centre the map on where you are, and
rank nearby car parks by walking distance.
Your location is used entirely on your device. It is not transmitted to us, to the parking operators, or to anyone else. If you decline the location permission, the app falls back to a default map centre and remains fully usable.
When you type a destination, the app sends what you typed to Google Places so it can suggest addresses and places. Google receives the search text and a short-lived session token, and processes it under the Google Privacy Policy. The search is limited to the city area the app covers. We do not receive or store it, and it is never linked to an account because there is none. If you prefer, you can type the name of a car park instead; matching against the built-in list happens on your device and sends nothing.
To stop the destination search from being abused by copies of the app that aren't genuine, the iPhone app uses Firebase App Check. It asks Apple's App Attest service to confirm that a request comes from a real copy of CheaPark, and passes that confirmation to Google along with the search. It contains no personal information and is not used for analytics or advertising.
The map is drawn by the Google Maps SDK, which fetches map tiles from Google for the area you are looking at. This works the same way as any app that shows a Google map, and is covered by the Google Privacy Policy linked above.
Your preferences — such as resident status, payment method, maximum walking distance, favourite car parks and your most recent destinations — are saved locally on your device using the platform's standard app storage (UserDefaults on iOS, DataStore on Android). This data stays on your device, is not synced to us, and is removed when you delete the app.
To show live parking information, the app requests publicly available parking data from the operators that publish it (Ahuzot Hahof and Central Park) over a secure (HTTPS) connection. These requests retrieve general car park information and do not include your identity or your location.
When you tap Navigate, the app opens your chosen maps app — Waze, Google Maps or Apple Maps — with the car park's address. From that point on that app's own privacy policy applies.
We do not collect contact details, identifiers, usage analytics, crash diagnostics, financial information, contacts, photos, or any advertising or tracking identifiers. CheaPark contains no third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.
CheaPark is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children.
Because CheaPark does not collect or process personal data on its own behalf, there is no personal data for us to access, correct, export, or delete. Any data the app uses lives only on your device and is fully under your control — uninstalling the app removes it. For the search text handled by Google, the Google Privacy Policy explains your rights and how to exercise them.
If the app's data practices ever change, we will update this policy and its effective date before the change ships.
