Cheam and Sutton Rotary organise the Young Photographer Competition and encourage entries from across local area.
Rotary’s Young Photographer Competition is a national competition where students in three age groups can submit photographs for judging. A theme for the entries is decided nationally and the winning entries at a local level are then judged at a regional level. Here again the winning entries are submitted for national judging.
Last year two entries in the Senior Category that were judged as the best at local level were also commended at regional level. These were two entries from Carshalton Girls High School.
One student from Wallington High School for Girls won at local level and was in the top three at regional level in the Intermediate Category. Another student from Cuddington Croft Primary School won at local level in the Junior Category and was in the top three regionally. Several other photographs from students at Carshalton High School for Girls were commended.
