2.1. Data We Collect
OpenAI API Key
Our Chrome Extension allows users to optionally provide an OpenAI API key. This API key is stored only in your local browser storage (Chrome storage) and is never transmitted to any server controlled by us.
When the extension needs to call OpenAI’s services, it uses the API key directly from your local storage and sends requests to OpenAI’s API endpoint. We do not intercept, store, or log any key usage or data returned by OpenAI.
Usage Data
We do not collect or store any usage data that can identify you personally. We do not use any analytics or tracking scripts on the extension itself.
2.2. What We Do Not Collect
We do not collect personally identifiable information beyond the user-provided OpenAI API key.
We do not automatically gather IP addresses, browser types, or any other standard web data from users.
We do not maintain any account or user profile.
Local Storage: The OpenAI API key is stored locally in your browser’s storage (Chrome extension storage). We do not have access to this key once stored, and it is never transmitted to our servers or third parties.
Retention: Because the key is kept only in your local storage, it remains there until you remove the extension or clear your local storage manually.
No Third-Party Transmission
We do not share or sell your API key to any third party. It is used solely for making authorized requests to OpenAI’s API at your instruction.
Legal Requirements
We do not control or store your personal data on our servers. Therefore, no personal information is available for disclosure to legal authorities from our side. If required by law to comply with a legal obligation, we might provide minimal information regarding the extension’s functionality, but that does not include your personal API key or usage data, which we never store on our servers.
Your API key is stored only in your local Chrome extension storage. Please note that while we design our extension to keep your key private, you are responsible for securing your own device and ensuring no unauthorized person can access your Chrome storage.
Our Service does not target or address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from users of any age. If you believe a child under 13 has provided a key or other personal data, you may remove that data at any time by clearing the extension’s local storage or uninstalling the extension.
Our extension may contain links to external sites (e.g., references to documentation or OpenAI’s site). These sites are not operated by us, and we strongly advise you to review their privacy policies. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically for any changes.
