Melbourne-based indie rock band Chasing Luena (formerly Wasteman) will release their new single "Home" on July 30th 2026, the next chapter in a planned run of releases across the year. Led by vocalist and songwriter Charlotte Glover, the track is a clear-eyed look at friendship, belonging, and the limits of what one person can ask of another while trying to hold a shared life together.

Built on a steady, driving arrangement and lyrics that move between the everyday and the existential, "Home" sits in the space between needing people and knowing what you cannot ask of them. Foster writes from inside a friendship under strain, naming the weight of leaning too hard on one person. The recurring line, "I can't ask you to be so much of home," reads less as resignation than as a hard, honest limit.
The song's strength lies in how it holds two truths at once. It names self-destruction, what "getting wasted every other day" costs a friendship, without turning the reckoning into a lesson. Chasing Luena keep the guitars grounded and let the words carry the weight, building a track that sits with discomfort rather than smoothing it over.
"Home" follows Chasing Luena's previous single, "Never Call Me," and widens the band's focus from private relationships to the places and people that hold a life in place. The closing idea, that "the walls can be torn down if we want that," stays conditional rather than triumphant. With more releases set for 2026, the band continue building slowly, single by single.
"'Home' started with the small stuff. A stolen bike, the tram tracks, picking each other up off the road. Then it turned into a question about how much you can put on the people closest to you," says Bill Foster.
"It is not a song about fixing anything. It is about naming the cracks out loud, and sitting with the question of whether the people you lean on can keep carrying that weight."
Chasing Luena are a Melbourne-based indie rock band known for emotionally grounded songwriting and guitar-driven arrangements that balance vulnerability with resolve. Fronted by Charlotte Glover, the band explore themes of relationships, self-reflection, and emotional accountability, carving out a sound that resonates through honesty rather than spectacle. Their music has steadily built an audience drawn to its clarity, restraint, and lived-in perspective.
