Hair: Dark brown, mid-length hair. Loosely kept and wavy - reflects his "go with the flow" personality. He has a tendency to run one hand through his hair, so it flows from left to right (basically this style)

Clothing: I want to create something that - as always - reflects a personality of "go with the flow." I think looking through The Hunchback of Notre Dame will give some good indicators of how he should "actually" be dressed. So a Hunchback of Notre Dame inspired getup that conveys a relaxed personality? I'm sure that could work, somehow. I saw how Captain Phoebus was dressed (in his 'casual' clothes), and I think that's almost exactly what I'm looking for. I like the idea of the white shirt to contrast the black cloak, but who knows!? Throw some blue in there, or a pastel-red. Definitely a lighter color, though.

I envision him having the iconic Organization 13 cloak draped about his shoulders, maybe in a style similar to Shuinsui Kyoraku (the pink cloak). I just like the idea that he's in uniform, but in a much more relaxed way. It's something that he can slip in and out of, something that mirrors his ability to. . . you guessed it - go with the flow.

Element Use:

• Felix can create glass, though he needs to have the raw materials around him (for obvious reasons, having a lot of sand around would be optimal, but many of the periodic elements needed can be taken from the earth around him). This usually takes a considerable amount of time, and is very physically taxing.
• Felix is able to modify different attributes of glass (such as density), which allows his glass rapier to be much sturdier than a typical glass object.
• Felix uses his element to change the size/length of his rapier mid fight, making it hard for his opponent to guess the reach of his next attack. He may even use this ability to transform his rapier into a glass gauntlet, or a shield. This is the main use of his element, as Felix only has access to a limited supply of glass.
• Because of this, not only is Felix’s weapon made of glass, but nearly everything he owns has some sort of glass in it. Felix’s arrival is usually preceded by a slight tinkling of glass, due to the numerous glass trinkets he carries with him. Even the zipper on his cloak is made of glass!
• The amount of energy it takes Felix to manipulate glass grows exponentially with the distance the glass is from him. While manipulating glass that is within arm’s reach is nearly effortless, glass that is even a stone’s throw away would take a lot of energy for Felix to manipulate.

Fighting Style:

• Felix’s fighting style is very much in line with his personality; his ability to see and sense the flow of battle is uncanny. Make no mistake, Felix is not running complex algorithms in his head to determine his next best move. His “feel” for fighting has become like a sixth sense, and he just moves to the beat of the battle.
• Felix is by no means a reserved fighter – due to the limited use of his element, he loves getting up close and personal with his opponent. Having trained under a master swordsman, Felix’s rapier is like an extension of himself, and he flows from attack to defense effortlessly. One of his strongest points is his ability to parry and riposte, as he easily sees openings and exploits them quickly.
• One of Felix’s favorite pastimes is sparring with fists, as it gives him the ability to go all out without the fear of (permanently) injuring his partner.

Background

Outline: Parents go to Paris, sheltered by gypsies. Frollo finds this out around 1982, supposedly when he starts his quest to purge the gypsies from Paris. One way or the other, he's able to convince Isabelle that he knows where they're hiding, and uses her to lure Life in and capture him. This is where it gets tricky, does Life escape because he's a B.A.M.F.? Or does he draw on the power of darkness...

Life draws on the power of darkness and escapes. He goes to his teacher to talk to him about the events, only to find that Martin is packed up and about to leave. (Martin is leaving because he's "stayed too long," and he has "nothing more to teach" Life. I imagine Life besting him in a duel before this.) Martin senses the darkness in Felix, gives him a cross, tells him to remember who he is. I could see him then going to his parents, the darkness still lurking, only to see Frollo interrogating them. This would push Life over the edge, and his heart would be consumed out of hatred for this man and his anger towards Isabelle.

SO LET'S THINK:

• IF FAMILY FLEES WAR OF THE ROSES (OKAY THE START WAS 1455 BUT THE YORKS FLED THE COUNTRY IN 1459)
• GUESS WHAT, THEY HAVE THE KID WHEN THEY ARRIVE IN PARIS (PRONOUNCED PEAR-E)
• THEY NAME HIM, WAIT FOR IT. . . LIFE. YES LIFE BECAUSE OF SO MUCH DEATH THAT HAD HAPPENED FROM 1455 TO 1459

Why would Frollo want to capture Life?

• The main thing I can think of is that Frollo would want to get at his parents. . . buy why? If he's some inquisitor, he wouldn't care that Life's parents were foreign.
• Unless. . . Life's dad was commissioned to make stained glass for Notre Dame. THAT COULD WORK, AND WOULD MAKE THE DEEP DIVE TRIPPY AS F
• Other thoughts: Life helped save someone who Frollo was trying to capture, but why wouldn't Frollo just take him out?

Why would he use Isabelle to do it? (as opposed to just busting down the doors?)

• Easy. He would want to convince the father not to create the stained glass. It would probably destroy his livelihood as well. He can't just bust down the doors and threaten the guy (too obvious). He would kidnap the son first.

Why would Isabelle betray Life?

• Could Frollo somehow convince Isabella that Life wasn't one of them? That his parents would mess up the cathedral, somehow 'stain' (ohoho) it by having their work there? "He's not one of us..." Could that really work? Could her parents be against her seeing him? Would there be a taboo against that? Would others (peers) be against the two of them being together?
• COULD ISABELLA BE A GYPSY?! WOAAHHHH YES SHE'S TRYING TO PROTECT THE GYPSIES BUT IT DOESN'T WORK

Fencing master was Spanish - WAIT, let's talk about Martin. Apparently, it means warring. "At war. . ." with oneself? He's very controlled, that's for sure. I like the idea of Martin also being a bird, going along with the currents of the wind. I also like the idea of Martin being related to Martin Luther, "Love the Lord your God, love your neighbor as yourself." That's why he fled Spain! Spanish Inquisition = not about that.
