Chart AI ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following information:
- A device-specific identifier (Device ID) to manage your account, preferences, subscription status, and usage history
- Your device model name for internal analytics and service improvement
- Usage data including analysis counts, feature interaction patterns, and request frequency
- Subscription and billing status through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store
- Support ticket content and any images you submit through the in-app support system
- Chart images you upload for AI-powered technical analysis
- Text messages you send through the AI chat feature
- Your selected trading style preference
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain our Service
- Manage your subscription and enforce usage limits
- Respond to your support tickets and comments
- Monitor and analyze usage patterns and trends to improve your experience
- Detect and prevent fraudulent, abusive, or unauthorized activity, including automated or bot access
- Enforce our Terms of Service and Fair Use Policy
- Protect the security and integrity of our Service and infrastructure
3. Third-Party AI Data Processing
Chart AI uses OpenAI's API services to power chart analysis and AI chat features. When you use these features, the following data is sent to OpenAI for processing:
- Chart images you upload for analysis
- Text messages you type in the AI chat
- Your selected trading style preference (e.g., Day Trading, Swing Trading)
This data is sent to OpenAI solely for the purpose of generating your analysis results and chat responses. OpenAI processes this data under their API data usage policy, which states that data submitted via the API is not used to train their models. OpenAI may retain API inputs and outputs for up to 30 days for abuse and misuse monitoring, after which it is deleted.
We do not send any personally identifiable information (such as your name, email, or device ID) to OpenAI. Only the content necessary to generate your analysis is transmitted.

4. Usage Monitoring
We monitor usage patterns, including request frequency and volume, to detect abuse, enforce fair use limits, and maintain service quality for all users. This monitoring may result in automated actions such as rate limiting or account restrictions if abnormal usage patterns are detected.
5. Data Storage and Security
Your data, including your Device ID and usage history, is stored securely on our servers. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data. We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personally identifiable information to outside parties.
6. Data Retention
We will retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services, enforce our Terms, and comply with our legal obligations. Usage logs related to abuse detection may be retained for a reasonable period after account termination.
7. Third-Party Services
Our Service uses the following third-party services:
- Apple App Store / Google Play Store for billing and subscription management
- Google AdMob for displaying advertisements
- OpenAI for AI-powered chart analysis and chat features (see Section 3 for details)
- Firebase Cloud Messaging for push notifications
Each of these services may collect information as governed by their respective privacy policies. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.
8. Advertising
We use Google AdMob to display advertisements within the app. Ads shown are non-personalized and do not rely on cross-app tracking. We do not collect or share your advertising identifier (IDFA) with third parties.
9. Your Rights
You may request deletion of your data by contacting us through the in-app support ticket system. Please note that certain data may be retained as required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as fraud prevention.
10. Your Consent
By using our Service, you consent to this Privacy Policy and our data practices as described herein. Before using AI-powered features for the first time, the app will present a consent dialog explaining what data is shared with OpenAI and requesting your explicit permission.
11. Changes to Our Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the app. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
