ChargePoint PK is committed to protecting your privacy. This app is designed to work with minimal data collection. We do not create user accounts, we do not sell data, and we do not show advertisements.
1. Overview
ChargePoint PK (“the App”, “we”, “our”) is a free mobile application that helps electric vehicle (EV) owners find nearby charging stations in Pakistan. The App displays your current location on a map, shows EV charging stations in your vicinity, and provides route directions to selected stations.
This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, and your choices regarding that information. By using ChargePoint PK, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. Data We Collect

2.2 Data We Do NOT Collect
• We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any personal identification information.
• We do not require you to create an account or sign in.
• We do not collect device identifiers, advertising IDs, or fingerprinting data.
• We do not use analytics services (such as Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, or Flurry).
• We do not display advertisements or use ad-tracking technologies.
• We do not collect browsing history, contacts, photos, or any data from other apps on your device.
• We do not record, store, or transmit your location history to any server. Your GPS coordinates are used in real-time only and are never persisted beyond the current app session.
3. How We Use Your Data
Location Data is used exclusively for the following purposes:
• Displaying your current position on the map.
• Querying nearby EV charging stations from the Open Charge Map API based on your latitude and longitude.
• Calculating distance and route directions from your current location to a selected charging station via the OpenRouteService API.
• Providing alternative route suggestions when available.
Your location is processed in real-time on your device and sent as coordinates to third-party APIs solely to retrieve station and route data. It is never stored on any server we operate.
Preferences and Favorites are stored locally on your device using encrypted local storage (Hive). This data never leaves your device and is deleted when you uninstall the App.
4. Third-Party Services
ChargePoint PK uses the following third-party APIs to provide its core functionality. When you use the App, your device communicates directly with these services:

These services may log IP addresses and request metadata as part of their standard operations. We encourage you to review their respective privacy policies. We have no control over the data handling practices of these third-party services.
5. Data Storage & Security
5.1 Local Storage
All user data (preferences, favorites, cached station data) is stored locally on your device using Hive, a lightweight encrypted key-value database. This data is:
• Accessible only to the ChargePoint PK app.
• Not synced to any cloud service.
• Not backed up to our servers.
• Automatically deleted when you uninstall the App.
5.2 No Backend Servers
ChargePoint PK does not operate its own backend servers or databases. The App communicates directly with the third-party APIs listed above. We do not have a server that receives, stores, or processes your data.
5.3 Network Security
All API communications use HTTPS (TLS encryption) to protect data in transit. Your location coordinates are encrypted during transmission to third-party services.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, rent, or share your personal information with any third parties for marketing, advertising, or any other purpose.
The only data transmitted from your device is:
• GPS coordinates sent to Open Charge Map and OpenRouteService to retrieve station data and calculate routes.
• Search text sent to Nominatim for address lookup.
• Standard map tile HTTP requests sent to CartoDB.
These transmissions are necessary for the App to function and contain no personal identification information beyond the coordinates and search queries.

If you deny location permission, the App will still function with limited capability — you can manually search for stations by city name, but the map will not center on your position and distance calculations will not be available.
The App does not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, storage, phone, SMS, calendar, or any other device capabilities.
8. Children’s Privacy
ChargePoint PK is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. Since the App does not require account creation and does not collect personal data, there is no mechanism through which children’s personal information could be gathered.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us at the email address provided in Section 11.
9. Your Rights
Since ChargePoint PK stores all data locally on your device and does not maintain any user databases, you have full control over your data:
• Access: All your data (favorites, settings) is visible within the App.
• Deletion: You can clear all App data through your device’s Settings > Apps > ChargePoint PK > Clear Data, or by uninstalling the App.
• Location Control: You can revoke location permission at any time through your device’s Settings. The App will continue to work with reduced functionality.
• Portability: Since no data is stored on external servers, there is no data to export or transfer.
If you are located in the European Union, United Kingdom, or any jurisdiction with applicable data protection laws (including Pakistan’s Personal Data Protection framework), you retain all rights afforded to you under those laws.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you through an in-app notification or by updating the “Last Updated” date at the top of this document.
Continued use of ChargePoint PK after changes to this policy constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
