The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has filed a charge sheet against Telangana Congress MP A Revanth Reddy, TRS MLA Venkata Veeraiah and a few others connected with its money laundering probe into 2015 alleged cash-for-vote scam.

The charge sheet also named present TRS MLA Sandra Venkata Veeraiah, Bishop Harry Sebastian, Rudra Sivakumar Uday Simha, Mathaiah Jerusalem and Vem Krishna Keerthan, whose father Vem Narendar Reddy was the TDP candidate in the election.

However, the ACB and the ED, in their charge sheets, did not name Naidu as an accused in the case, as they could not get evidences to prove that the money was sent to Stevenson at the behest of Naidu.

"Legal opinion has been taken and the charge sheet will be filed in a day or two hopefully," a senior SIT official told PTI on Thursday. Asked against how many accused they are contemplating to file the charge sheet, the official said it is being finalised. The official further said they have collected sufficient evidence including forensic against the accused besides they have evidence pertaining to money transactions and exchange of leaked question papers.

While directing that the amount shall be equally apportioned to the petitioners, the court said State will be at liberty to recover the money from the concerned investigating officer, who filed the charge-sheet.

Hyderabad police on Thursday filed the charge sheet in the sensational May 28 Jubilee Hills gangrape case. The 350-page charge sheet was filed both in the Nampally Criminal Court and the Juvenile Justice Board as five of the six accused in the case are minors. The police, however, made a plea to the Juvenile Justice Board to allow the minors to be treated as majors for trial in view of the serious nature of the offence.
