Change YouTube Speed is a browser extension that controls and remembers playback speed on YouTube.
## Information the extension processes
To provide its features, the extension processes information available on the current YouTube page, including playback state and speed, channel identifiers and names, video-category indicators, live-stream state, and advertisement state. This processing happens locally in the user's browser. Advertisement state is used only when the user enables the optional advertising-speed feature and to restore normal video rules after an advertisement ends.
The extension stores user-selected settings such as language, default speed, automatic-speed options, optional advertising speed, quick-speed presets, and optional per-channel rules using `chrome.storage.sync`. Chrome may synchronize these settings through the user's browser account.
## Information collection and sharing
The developer does not receive, collect, sell, rent, or share user data. The extension does not use analytics, advertising, tracking technologies, or a developer-operated server.
## Data retention and control
Settings remain in Chrome storage until the user changes them, clears extension data, or uninstalls the extension. Users can disable advertising acceleration, remove individual channel rules, or remove all channel rules from the extension interface.
## Permissions
The extension uses the `storage` permission to save settings and requests access only to `https://*.youtube.com/*` to control playback and display its in-player speed control.
## Limited Use
The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
## Changes to this policy
If the extension's data practices change, this policy and the Chrome Web Store disclosures will be updated before those changes are released.
