I love my studio!! It is spacious and the balcony is my favorite part. The Oval park close by is a great location for me to work out, and the beautiful Van Cortland park is walking distance as well. I have a car so having a parking garage that’s affordable and close is so convenient. Most importantly the multicultural food options in the Bronx allow me to taste all sorts of good Caribbean, Latin, and Seafood.
Our apartment is so much bigger than we thought it would be. Obviously we love the price and lack of commute, but our favorite part is definitely the beautiful view from our balcony. We also love that it's easy to have impromptu dinners and movie nights with the CHAMily since we all live in the same building. The location is great. We can enjoy all the greenery/culture of the Bronx and we're both a short car ride away from the Hudson Valley and a subway ride away from Manhattan.

The best part of Waldo housing is the short commute and all the good food close by—I can go out to eat and get good drinks without going into Manhattan when I’m feeling lazy (which I often am). There is some parking available next to the building—and I was lucky enough to get it so it’s a 10 minute drive to work. There is also a doorman and you never have to worry about packages. My studio is really spacious (about 700 sq ft though the sizes vary) and having 3 closets is a necessity in my life. It’s walking distance to the 1 train, close to parks (including Van Cortland where there’s a horse barn I ride at), and of course subsidized. Though Riverdale isn’t the hustle and bustle of Manhattan, it’s a nice neighborhood with tons of convenience.
(Note: Waldo studios do not come with fireplaces. This is just a part of Kristen's interior design genius)
I like my one bedroom a lot. The apartment is big for one person, very comfortable for two. I unfortunately do not have a balcony, but most apartments in this building do have one. The neighborhood is quiet and there's plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Commuting to work is pretty easy if you have a car, but if you don't, there are free monte shuttles [see above for info]. Walking to work is also not terrible, takes about 30 minutes and it's good exercise!
Commute to CHAM : 40-60 minutes by Subway
(Both the 4 and the D trains are within walking distance of CHAM)

My fiancé and I love our cozy little Manhattan apartment! We're both living on a resident salary, so our goal was to find the cheapest apartment possible in the UES that had just enough space and was close to the subway (for me commuting to Monte and him commuting to NYU) - and it also has laundry in the building! What we also love is the many delicious, diverse places to eat right outside our door (from Asian to Mexican to Italian). It's also a 10 minute walk to central park, which has now become my go to place to run.
I live in Sutton place/midtown East and my partner and I love living here so much. It’s a surprisingly quiet area of New York City that is close to the east river for easy access to parks, running and biking. We walk to Central Park often, there are so many lovely restaurants and bars, and it’s easy to get to pretty much any part of the city! Our building is lovely and we have great neighbors. Being able to live in Manhattan during residency has been great!
My husband and I love our place for so many reasons - many windows with lots of natural light, the friendly doormen/maintenance staff who know our names and cheer us up even after the hardest of days, and a second bathroom (yay no sharing!). However, our favorite part about our place is the endless bars/restaurant all around us and how easy it is to get to the rest of Manhattan and beyond. The location is also great because it is equidistant from both of our workplaces (he works in Brooklyn).
