Who says the fun has to end when trick or treating is done? Let the fun continue with Boo Bets!
My oldest daughter's birthday falls near Halloween. Her parties are always so much fun because of that. Who doesn't love costumes, and pumpkin carving, and candy? This year, she is turning 17 and she graduates high school this year. When it hit me that this might be the last year as "a kid" to celebrate a birthday with her, I decided I wanted to do a little something for her birthday this year.
As my kids got older, their birthday parties became much more simple, usually dinner with family or a couple friends. This year, we planned for my daughter to have two friends sleep over for her birthday. She decided she wanted something simpler than what I had in mind. Staying up late, watching scary movies, making Halloween themed snacks, and playing board games with a candy betting twist.
I loved the idea of livening up a board game night with candy bets. Being the "extra" person that I am, I took that idea and ran with it. That is the story of how "Boo Bets" was born. This game is sort of like Poker met War and had a Halloween Uno baby. The object of the game is to play the highest card each round, winning the candy betted for that round. When there are no cards left to play, the player that collected the most wins throughout the game wins the candy jackpot.
This game is a great way to keep the fun going after a night of trick-or-treating. The game is a free PDF printable download, but why not make it a boo-themed party with some of these products:
