個人簡歷
陳品元醫師現職基隆長庚醫院腦神經外科主任，專長為清醒腦瘤外科手術、微創腦部手術、微創脊椎手術、頸椎人工椎間盤置換；研究專長為腦瘤免疫調節療法之開法，以及運用腦部對流傳輸開發腦瘤藥物研究。於擔任主治醫師期間，有感腦瘤患者的手術治療近年雖有進步，然而在強調切除率的同時，往往要犧牲神經功能及生活品質，便積極投入臨床醫療研究中，發展其他替代療法。除參與聚焦超音波的研發外，先後前往美國舊金山加大腦瘤研究中心及法國蒙特里耶大學學習，將美國與歐洲的腦部藥物對流傳輸 (CED)以及清醒開顱手術的精華帶回國內，整合團隊的力量，協助長庚發展成為亞洲功能性開顱手術的重鎮。2013年從長庚大學臨床醫學研究所取得博士學位後，積極發展腦瘤免疫療法之開發，近期陳品元醫師的免疫研究亦發現，腦瘤內有一些特定免疫細胞如，CD8淋巴細胞、微膠細胞與巨噬細胞，對於腦瘤的增生有顯著關係，未來將持續開發免疫細胞療法，增進腦瘤的治療效果。
