Tad, or 'Tadpole' (if you prefer), is a native Texan raised in the Wichita Falls area. By day he works in the pharmaceutical industry, and by night he plies his trade as a leathersmith. He is a diehard advocate for scientific skepticism, and a general fanboy of science and space exploration.
Tad has been GMing since 2014, though his passion for TTRPGs began in the early 2000's. What naively began as an attempt to build his own dice game quickly evolved into a review of game theory and design. He has roots in some of the d20 system's most iconic titles, including D&D 3/3.5, Pathfinder, Aberrant, and d20 Modern. He has DMed for the Adventures League organized play setting since season 6, with notable runs of the Curse of Strahd and Eberron campaign settings.Â
Tad favors a gritty style of gaming, particularly in the genres of horror and urban fantasy. While he has no lack of interest in 'crunchy' mechanics (you could say he is a bit of a rules lawyer), his style of play at the table tends more towards the narrative. With the rise of story-driven games 'Powered by the Apocalypse' (PbtA), Tad has found his beat with titles such as Monster of the Week, Apocalypse World, and Dungeon World.
