Open to players of all averages, this league prioritizes flexible scheduling and competitive play for individual dart players, leveraging online platforms for convenience and fair play.
Registration Fee: A one-time fee of $10.00 CAD per player is required to cover league administration and platform costs.
Payment Method: Fees will be collected via e-transfer (or other agreed-upon digital payment method) to the league commissioner upon registration.
Participation Cap: There is no participation cap on the number of players who can register for the league.
Season Length Determination: The maximum league length is 26 weeks, including playoffs.
The exact structure of the regular season (e.g., a full round-robin for all players, or the creation of multiple divisions with separate round-robins) will be determined by the league commissioner after registration closes. This decision will be based on the total number of registered players, ensuring the entire season, including playoffs, can be completed within the 26-week maximum.
Weekly Matches: Each player will have one set match per week.
Flexible Scheduling: Players are responsible for contacting their weekly opponent to arrange a mutually agreeable day and time to complete their match.
Communication: Players must use Facebook Messenger for scheduling. All players will be added to a dedicated League Messenger Chat Channel where they can easily contact their opponents.
Deadline: All weekly matches must be completed before 9:00 PM ADT on Sunday of that week.
Match Reports: Match results will be compiled and sent out via the League Messenger Chat Channel and/or email every Sunday at 11:00 PM ADT.
Platform: All matches will be played on DartConnect. Players must have at least a Guest DartConnect account; a premium account is not required.
Camera Requirement: A camera is mandatory for all matches. The camera must provide a clear, unobstructed view of the dartboard, ensuring fair play and verification of scores. Players should verify their opponent's camera setup before starting the match.
Game Type: All games played will be 501 Straight In, Double Out.
Match Structure: First to 3 Sets, Best of 5 Legs per Set
To win the overall match, a player must win 3 sets.
Each set is played as "Best of 5 legs," meaning the first player to win 3 legs within that set wins the set.
Minimum Legs per Match: 9 legs (e.g., three 3-0 sets).
Maximum Legs per Match: 25 legs (e.g., a 3-2 match where all five sets go to 5 legs). This ensures thorough and competitive matches.
DartConnect: DartConnect will be used for real-time scoring and automatic tracking of match results, including sets and legs won. Both players should ensure scores are accurately entered into DartConnect during the match.
Standings: League standings will be based on the data automatically tracked by DartConnect and will be primarily determined by:
Total Matches Won
Head-to-head record (in case of ties on match wins)
Set differential (sets won - sets lost)
Leg differential (legs won - legs lost)
Playoffs: The top 8 players from the regular season (or top players from each division if applicable) will qualify for a single-elimination playoff bracket.
Playoff Matches: The playoff match format (e.g., best of 5 sets, best of 7 sets) will be announced closer to the playoff stage, based on the remaining time and player availability.
Standard Darts Rules: All standard darts rules apply (e.g., three darts per turn, bust rule, retrieval of darts). Players are expected to adhere to the standard throwing distance.
Disputes: Any disputes regarding scoring, camera issues, or conduct should be immediately brought to the attention of the league commissioner via Facebook Messenger. The commissioner's decision is final.
Punctuality: Players are expected to be ready at the agreed-upon match time. If a player is more than 15 minutes late without prior communication, their opponent may claim a forfeit for the first set. After 30 minutes, a full match forfeit may be declared at the commissioner's discretion.
Sportsmanship: Maintain respectful and sporting conduct at all times.
Technical Issues: In the event of significant technical issues (internet outage, DartConnect problems) during a match, players should pause the game, attempt to resolve the issue, and if necessary, contact the commissioner for guidance. Resumption of the match or rescheduling will be at the commissioner's discretion.
League Commissioner: A designated league commissioner will manage registration, schedule announcements, pull results and standings from DartConnect, and handle dispute resolution.
Primary Communication: The League Messenger Chat Channel on Facebook Messenger will be the primary communication hub for league-wide announcements, scheduling coordination, and general discussion. Players are expected to check this channel regularly.
Stats Posting: Weekly stats and league standings will be officially posted on the DCTV League Channel and also updated on cgcdarts.com.
