Transport and interactions when colloids flow through a membrane
to identify limiting phenomena
to see the phenomena
to understand the mechanisms
Research activities focused on problems at the frontier between membrane and colloid science ; a domain where the nanoscale phenomena are at the origin of scientific challenges and at the source of future innovations.
Currently studying how colloids (or soft and biological matter) are transferred in processes as membrane separation, film drying, …
Experimental approaches on the study of operating conditions at process scale (for example fouling during filtration) and the acquisition of data on phenomena at local scale with microfluidic devices (clogging of channels for example in video )
Numerical and theoretical approaches to describe these phenomena (in video)
This double two-way approach between experiment (to identify the limiting phenomena) vs numerical simulation (to understand the mechanism) and between process scale (to control the consequences) vs local scale (to see the phenomena) allow to progress in the understanding and in the control of the transport of colloids.
