Janice Minyard - August 2020

Covid 19 Quilts from Janice Minyard

Before Covid 19 and sheltering in place, I had started a WIP (Works in Progress) challenge with a group of friends. We made a list of 10 projects we had started prior to 2020 and wanted to work on this year. We did not have to finish the quilt – just work on it. Of my original 10 quilts, 3 are finished and one is close. However, I have finished 9 quilts since March. (I had finished two quilts prior to March 1.)

Grandpa Larry

(65 x 65) This was not on the original list because I had forgotten about it. I found the bag when cleaning/sorting at the very beginning of Covid 19. Started in a CCQ class with Pam Munns (May 2019?)

Layla Graduation

(63 x 78) This is my second attempt at a quilt for Layla. The first was TOO BORING! I put the 35 blocks aside and later put them together into 3 charity quilts.

Grandma Dana

(45 x 45) A friend’s first Grandchild. She mentioned pink, gray, and elephants. I found the stuffie pattern on line and used it for the applique as well.

Grandma Dana

Julia’s mom saw the stuffed elephant and wanted one for Julia. We put something in the ears to make them crackle.
