Materials needed: Laptop, projector, student electronic devices
Kahoot is a fun platform for allowing students to play games together in class. They read the questions together on the board, then select the answers using their own devices.
The only caveat is that you have to project the questions on a screen in the classroom. (Kahoot explains their reasoning for this here.)
The teacher loads the game on their computer, and the players have to get a special code in order to join it. Unfortunately, the code changes every time (presumably so random people aren't joining your game).
Teacher Instructions
4. Choose a quiz. I prefer the quiz by Jandazz. Click on the quiz, then click Play. It will say, "Your Kahoot is loading."
5. Click the green "Classic" button for students to play as individuals rather than teams. Now you've got the game loaded.
6. This is where things get tricky. The game gives you a code that allows other players to join.
7. Now the students will join the game. Tell them to go to this website:
They will enter the code that's on your screen. This code changes every time you play the game, so that's why us teachers have to get the code ahead of time.
8. As the teacher, you will stay on your original page (see below). When all the players have joined, click the "Start" button.
