MAGNETISM
Magnetism is a non-contact force that works at a distance.
Magnets are objetcs that attract other objects made of magnetic materials.
Magnets create a magnetic field. A magnetic field is the area near a magnet that has enough power to attract things.
Magnets have two poles, a north pole (N) and a south pole (S).
Opposite poles of magents attract each other.
Like poles of magnets repel each other.
There are different types of magnets:
Permanent magnets:
Natural magnets are magnetic materials found in the ground, for example magnetite.
Artificial magnets are man-made from metals, for example neodymium or ferrite magnets
Temporal magnets
Electromagnets are man-made temporary magnets. They are created when an electric current move around an ion object. They can be found in many electrical appliances, for example computers, doorbeels or automatic doors.
Permanent and temporal
All magnets have north and south poles. Opposite poles are attracted to each other, while the same poles repel each other.
