In the computer room of the school we did a Smart Cities activity, what we did was super fun, first they gave us a talk about Smart Cities, and then in a super cool place in a city, we took some tablets and played to take care of the environment with electrical things.
Here they were giving us the talk about Smart Cities, it was a little boring.
What is a Smart City?
A smart city uses information and communication technology (ICT) to improve operational efficiency and share information with the public.
What are the differences between a Smart City and a "normal city"?
The difference between a Smart City and a normal city is that the Smart City is an electronic city and is powered by electricity and the normal city is powered by air and natural things.
How does a Smart City administrates?
a. Energy demand
The energy demand is defined by multiplying the maximum discharge power Pdischarge_out with the maximum discharge duration during which the power should be supplied to the grid.
b. Air Pollution
The contamination of air due to the presence of substances in the atmosphere that are harmful to the health of humans and other living beings, or cause damage to the climate or to materials.
c. Street lights
Public lighting: is the public service consisting of the illumination of public roads, public parks, and other spaces of free circulation that are not in charge of any natural or legal person of private or public law, with the purpose of providing adequate visibility for the normal development of activities.
d. Public transportation.
Public transport in the smart cities is easier because, for example, buses can work without gas and, besides, they can drive by theirselves to bus stops. The same could be with cabs, cars...
e. Waste.
For garbage in smart cities, for example, could exist a calendar in order to organize your week (from Monday to Saturday) to know when to take the garbage and to which container, with the objective of recycling more.
f. Green areas.
When we talk about urban green spaces, we refer to those that are located within a city or an urban agglomeration. These green spaces can be distinguished into two types, and the most important are the natural green spaces (those that have developed naturally).
Personal opinion.
This is my personal opinión about Smart cities:
|like it and I think Smart Cities are super good because it helps the environment electronically although it should be watching for one person because machines almost always fail but for everything else I think it's great because in a normal city there are people who do it but in a smart city you don't need people to do it because with advanced technology you can do a lot of things like a smart city.
