In the primeval time, the only rule was the “law of the jungle”.
The tens of thousands of years of human civilization on Earth is nothing but a flash in the billions of years of the Universe. Thus in the vast Universe, it is probably still a “jungle” out there. There may be far more advanced civilizations out there which look upon the earthlings just like how earthlings look upon the “civilized” world of ants.
What would those far more advanced civilizations in the Universe do to us humans on Earth--once we are discovered? It’s hard to say. They may ignore us, or study us, if we are lucky. Or they may choose to trample upon us humans--just like we have trampled on ants without second thought.
Knowingly or unknowingly, humans have tried to make contact with alien civilizations beyond Earth. In this Book II of the “Three Body Problem”, the author told a horror story of this imminent danger that was to come for sure because we discovered that were discovered.
What would human do to counter this danger in order to maintain its civilization and existence?
