Never Give Up

Hello Volleyball Enthusiasts,

Dr. Darren Cannell here from the Canadian Elite Academy, and today I want to touch on a very important topic - the power of never giving up.

In volleyball, as in life, there will be challenging moments. Times when the score seems lopsided against your favor or when you miss what could've been a game-changing serve. It's during these moments that the importance of not giving up really shines.

On offense, never giving up means relentlessly aiming for that perfect spike or serve that lands just right on the opponent's court. It's about continually striving to make the ball hit the floor on the opponent's side, irrespective of the number of failed attempts.

On defense, it's about diving for every impossible-looking save, even if it means hitting the floor yourself. It's about doing your best to make sure that ball doesn't hit your court, no matter how powerful the attack.

But remember, never giving up isn't just about actions on the court. It's also about attitude. It's about mental toughness and resilience. It's about standing up every time you fall, learning from every mistake, and coming back stronger each time.

There's a saying that goes, "It's not about how hard you hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward." And that encapsulates the essence of never giving up.

Every great player you admire, every championship team you look up to, they've all had moments of struggle and defeat. What sets them apart is their indomitable spirit, their refusal to give up, even when things look bleak.

So whether you're on offense, aiming to make the ball hit the floor on the other side, or on defense, doing everything to prevent it from hitting yours - never, ever give up. Keep fighting, keep learning, and keep growing. Your determination and resilience are your greatest strengths.

Stay strong, keep believing, and enjoy this wonderful journey of volleyball.
