CDL Certify ("the App," "we," "us") is a commercial driver's license exam preparation app. This policy explains what data the App collects, how it's used, and your choices.
We do not require you to create an account, and we do not collect your name, email address, or other direct personal information within the App itself.
The App uses third-party services that may collect data automatically:
The App displays ads through Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, AdMob may collect:
Advertising ID and other device identifiers
IP address and approximate location
App usage and interaction data (e.g., ad impressions, clicks)
Device information (device type, operating system version)
This data is used to show ads, including personalized ads where permitted, and to prevent fraud and measure ad performance. You can review and manage ad personalization through your device's ad settings, and Google's own privacy practices are described in the Google Privacy Policy and How Google uses data from partner sites and apps.
If you make a purchase within the App (such as unlocking premium content), the transaction is processed by Google Play Billing. We do not receive or store your payment card details — that information is handled entirely by Google. We may receive confirmation of your purchase status (e.g., whether a premium feature is unlocked) to grant access to paid content.
The App may collect basic technical data (such as crash logs and performance data) to help us identify and fix bugs. This data does not identify you personally.
We do not collect your contact list, camera or microphone access, precise GPS location, health data, or financial account information.
Data collected through the services above is used to:
Display and measure advertising
Process in-app purchases
Diagnose and fix technical issues
Improve the App's content and performance
We do not sell your personal data.
We share data only with the service providers described above (Google AdMob, Google Play Billing) as needed for them to provide their services, and as required by law.
CDL Certify is intended for users preparing for a commercial driver's license, who must be at least 18 years old (or the applicable minimum age to hold a commercial learner's permit in their jurisdiction). The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us using the information below and we will delete it.
Ad personalization: You can opt out of personalized advertising through your device's settings (Settings > Privacy > Ads on Android) or by adjusting consent choices presented in the App.
Data deletion: Since the App does not maintain user accounts or store personal profiles on our servers, there is generally no personal data for us to delete beyond what's held by Google's services (AdMob, Play Billing), which you can manage through your Google Account settings.
We do not operate our own servers that store personal user data. Data collected by Google AdMob and Google Play Billing is retained according to Google's own retention policies.
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
