~~~Fall Production~~~
Disney's Beauty and the Beast JR
Starts: Thursday, September 5th
Ages: 7-16 Cost of Enrollment: $239
Disney's Beauty and the Beast JR is a fantastic adaptation of the story of transformation and tolerance featuring some of the most popular songs ever written by Alan Menken and the late Howard Ashman, along with new songs by Mr. Menken and Tim Rice.
The classic story tells of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed to his former self. But time is running out. If the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity.
Cast members will meet Thursdays from 6pm-8pm and Saturdays from 9:30am-1pm for rehearsals!
Course Number: YPT 233
Special Notes: No class October 31st, November 28th, or November 30th. Must enroll by start of class--no late enrollments will be accepted.
Saturday Intensives
Ages: 13 and up Cost of Enrollment: $30
Theater artisans come from a wide variety of backgrounds—putting up a strong show doesn’t just require actors; it also calls for painters, carpenters, clothing designers, decorators, musicians, sound engineers, electrical engineers, graphic artists, social media artists and more. Many professionals and volunteers in the fields of technical theater and design actually come to theater from outside backgrounds. So whether you’re a thespian looking to learn more about design and tech, or a designer or technician looking to learn more about theater, these workshops are a great way to strengthen your skills and explore new territory! Saturday Intensives consist of individual workshops scheduled on specific Saturdays throughout the semester. Each workshop focuses on a specific skill or content area. Sign up for one, or sign up for all!
This fall's Saturday Intensive Workshops will be posted soon!
