Want to design and hack real-world embedded systems? Join our school's team for MITRE's Embedded Capture The Flag (eCTF) competition this Spring! Please read the details below, and if interested, please fill out our interest form. The competition has started, but the team has one competitor space available that must be filled by January 24. Please apply as soon as possible as applications will be considered on a rolling basis.
What You'll Do:
Build a secure Satellite TV System (Design Phase: Jan 15 to Feb 26)
Hack other teams' designs (Attack Phase: Feb 26 to Apr 16)
Work with real hardware (prior embedded systems experience helpful but not required)
Learn embedded development and security from the ground up
Great Fit For:
CS students who can program in C, Rust, and/or Python
IT/Networking students interested in security
Electronics/Engineering students with interest or experience in digital systems
Mathematics or Physics students interested in cryptography or signal processing
Benefits:

Extra credit in Prof. Sam Bowne's cybersecurity classes, or possible CNIT 197 credit (contact Sam for details!)
Learn skills rarely taught in classes
Networking opportunities with MITRE engineers and security professionals
Time Commitment:
Competition runs January 15 through April 25
Approx. 6 hours per week
Flexible scheduling around classes
