Encryption is scrambling data to make sure that even if a hacker does steal our details, they cannot read it, because they don't know the key.
One of the earliest methods of cryptography is known as the Caesar cipher.
In this method, the alphabet is written out twice. The second time it is shifted. The number of letters it is shifted by is known as the key.
