After installing CCLeaner on my Android I tried to open the app and received a message stating that "this app is supported by personalized advertising blah, blah, blah". So why am I paying for a 1 year subscription advertised as supporting 3 devices including an Android and I still have to pay an additional fee to upgrade to avoid adds. Where is the "Truth in Advertising" with this.

The confirmation email does have a link to install ccleaner on your andriod device but unfortunatly it goes through google store to install. The first screen you get states "This app is supported by personalized advertising. The paid version allows you to opt out of adds, CCleaner marketing and analytics". After installing you have 2 options (continue with adds or upgrade now).

If this is all about google then CCLeaner needs to create their own downloadable app or make it clear that there is an additional google monthly charge to use their app without the adds on your android. If you read the reviews on the version with adds their is a lot of complaints about not being able to stop or hide the "very" lengthly adds on the CCleaner version with adds.

You always had to buy the Android version through the PlayStore, but from the current adverts for Pro Plus and Premium the impression is that they have finally managed to have it included with the bundle licence.

Advertisers and websites track your behavior online with cookies that stay on your computer. CCleaner erases your browser search history and cookies so any internet browsing you do stays confidential and your identity remains anonymous.

I paid for the upgrade to Pro with the defraggler and whatever else. Is there a separate download for the defrag? I saw one but then it says to pay more for the defrag Pro. I don't see any difference in upgrading. I want my money back.

I also tried to update each driver independenly and the same thing STILL happens regardless of whether I select only one driver to update or I try to update them all in bulk. The point is that this sort of thing should not be happening with CCleaner. The program has worked for nearly a decade without any issues.

Now before I get a million questions about whether I just updated over an existing installation... the first time YES I did update over my exisiting installation of CCleaner Professional. Then I got the issues above and well you know what happened... So then, I uninstalled CCleaner, restarted my computer, and reinstalled CCleaner Professional Plus and the problem above still persists. So this is not an issue with me reinstalling a clean install of CCleaner because I have.

If there is someone who can help with this issue, then please by all means I appreciate your assistance. However try and refrain from asking me information I have already provided as it is frustrating for any customer to have to repeat themselves in text multiple times and I would like to remedy this in as little time as possible.

I am using Vipre Internet Security and when disabled the "Active Protection" (not to be confused with the firewall), CCleaner Professional Plus updated the drivers as normal. I never had to do this before, but now that I found a work-around, I hope that this might help some other people having similar issues as it could be your Virus/ Internet Security preventing CCleaner from updating your drivers.

Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Piriform\CCleaner and you'll find (Cfg)WelcomeScreen there. Right-click on (Cfg)WelcomeScreen and click Modify. A new panel will open with the number 1 highlighted. Just type 0 (zero, that is) and click OK, then close the registry editor, and that should stop the "Welcome Back" screen from annoying you.

I fixed it by reinstalling CCleaner, Will have to recheck registry too now. I'm fine with editing it. I was thinking I had to edit ccleaner.ini file instead because I always have ticked: "Save all settings to INI file" in CCleaner options. I've never seen these registry options. Good to know... Tyvm ^^

When I get an update notice (I have auto-update turned OFF) in my CCleaner window, I close the window and go to , where I'll find two Free versions with installers, a Slim version, and, at the bottom, the Portable version. The Portable comes in a .zip file. You just unzip that file by double-clicking it, and you'll see Extract All in the toolbar at the top of the File Explorer window. When you click Extract All, it will ask you for a "destination," and that's the folder you have CCleaner in. I have all of my 35 or so programs -- except for a couple that fight to be installed on C:\ -- (and all my "folder" stuff like documents, downloads, and pictures) installed (not REALLY installed, because they're portable and standalone programs that run without installation) on my D:\ drive, to keep my System drive (C:\) as system-only as I can keep it, so my CCleaner files are at D:\Utilities I\CCleaner Portable, and that's where I "Extract All" to.

Okay, I'm REALLY annoyed now! On one (and only one) of my three computers with licensed CCleaner on them, this ridiculous "Welcome back to CCleaner" screen pops up repeatedly, even after I have gone in to the registry on that machine and changed the Welcome screen value to 0 (from 1) a dozen times.

I recently bought a new laptop with Windows 11, and loaded last week CCleaner of the same version as on the desktop (also free version and not signed in) and I have been getting that start screen from your photo. I cannot figure out why I get it on one PC but not the other.

I'm waiting to see whether one of the experts here on the Forum will sweep in with a solution, or at least an explanation for why it happens on one PC and not another. If the latter, we may be able to do something to correct the situation on the PC that keeps getting the "Welcome" message.

The same thing happens to me. On my PC and laptop, there is no welcome screen. On my dad's PC the welcome screen keeps coming back. I think it is a version of CCleaner that did this! Aka, we skipped an update on the PC that the welcome screen does not appear! I can't access my dad's PC atm to check this. Try uninstalling with revo uninstaller and reinstall, also overwrite files with the PC one's w/o the welcome screen. Let me know, If I fix this I will let you know, as well!

One thing that might be worth checking for those who see it on some machines but not others is if the CCleaner licence keys on each are older style (24-character) or the newer style (20-character, 3 groups of 6 plus the two dashes).

Of course for Pro+ it may be the same key used on more than one machine.

Which is another possibility, is it only happing with multi-machine Pro+?

I can't think of any reason why any of that should make a difference, but when odd things happen you have to start looking for odd causes and ruling them out if you can.

Looking at CCleaner itself has to be first, Windows can have too many oddities altogether.

(For info both my laptops use an old style CCleaner key, same key on both).

Well, that's an interesting new take on what's going on here. The machine of mine that won't hold the 0 (zero) in (Cfg) WelcomeScreen is CCleaner Portable with a license key registered (which makes it show CCleaner Professional). But both my machine that won't hold the setting and my other main machine that WILL and DOES hold it are CC Portable but with my Plus key registered. Both machines have portable.dat in their CC folders.

After a short intro explaining the features, CCleaner carries out a Health Check in a matter of seconds highlighting privacy trackers and junk to remove along with startup apps to disable and apps to update.

Version 6.0 also adds 50 new programs (with 200 more coming in 2023) to the Software Updater helping you get the latest versions with less hassle. These include KMplayer, WinZip, Box Drive, Foxit Reader, Adobe Reader, and Nitro Pro.

Everything was working fine until the big May (in July?) update for Windows. Now that I've got it, CCleaner Professional (V5.69.7865 64-bit) is having trouble connecting to the internet. The Security box in Health Check is "unable to reach server" and tools such as Software Updater informs me that I'm offline, which is odd because every other function on my PC that requires an internet connection is working just fine. And I've seen that people had this issue with older versions before the 2004 update, yet they were told it's "simply an incorrect message" and will be "fixed in a future update." That's a weird way of saying "We don't know what the problem is and we don't want to admit that our program that you paid for isn't working properly." How can one be told "Oh, it works, trust us! You just can't see it" and be expected to believe it? When will the functions that we pay for actually work? Just a bit frustrated over here.

PS. they did know what the problem was with the incorrect message - it was simply as stated, an incorrect message being shown, and it was corrected at the next version.

(It should have said '0 apps to update' but the code was pointing to the wrong message).

How can i check if the server is up? Currently i get "Unable to reach server" at the Speed tab. I've seen more postings concerning your(?) server. I must admit, it makes me wonder if it is wise to buy the professional version. ff782bc1db
