Mission & Purpose

The Chicago Chapter of the Black Caucus of the American Librarian Association (CCBCALA) is organized to develop an educational, professional, and social organization to improve and develop library service and librarianship in the Chicago Metropolitan area.

Announcement: 2023 Charlemae Hill Rollins Scholarship Award Winner

The Charlemae Hill Rollins Scholarship Committee is pleased to announce that Felicia Crumpton is the 2023 Charlemae Hill Rollins Scholarship award winner! Born and raised on the South Side of Chicago, Ms. Crumpton has dedicated the last 24 years of her life to work in libraries in Chicago, starting as a page. Currently, Ms. Crumpton is working as an Adult Library Associate at Woodson Regional Library, bringing great customer service, the desire to learn new things, and programming know-how to her role. She is currently pursuing her Masters in Library Science from Chicago State University and looks forward to becoming an Adult Librarian. In fulfillment of the committee service requirement for award winners, Ms. Crumpton will serve on the Professional Development and Mentorship Committee for 1 year.
