Cristian was born in the beautiful south of Chile, specifically, in Osorno, Region de Los Lagos, where received his primary, secondary and university education.
Cristian is a Ph.D. in Mathematical Engineering of the University of Concepción (Chile) and Applied Mathematics of the University of Groningen (The Netherlands). His research focuses on numerical methods for partial differential equations, mainly in Finite Element Methods (FEM) and biomedical applications. He was part of the Department of Mathematical Engineering and Center of Research in Mathematica Engineering (CI2MA) at the University of Concepción led by Dr. Rodolfo Araya and also belonged to the Cardiomath team research at the University of Groningen led by Dr. Cristobal Bertoglio.
Currently, he lives in Berlin, Germany, researching as part of the Volker John's team at Weierstrass Institute.
