Building on the successful first workshop held at ICCBR 2024 in Mérida, México, the workshop will present an excellent opportunity for researchers and practitioners to continue to discuss and share their insights on this new, exciting and rapidly evolving area of AI. We look forward to your contributions and an engaging and informative workshop.
Topics of Interest
Many relevant opportunities and challenges are discussed in the paper “Case-Based Reasoning Meets Large Language Models: A Research Manifesto For Open Challenges and Research Directions”, available at https://hal.science/hal-05006761
The workshop will focus on several key areas, including but not limited to:
Integration of CBR with LLMs for enhanced reasoning and decision-making.
CBR for prompt engineering for LLMs.
CBR for Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) for LLMs.
CBR for explaining LLM output and vice-versa (XAI).
CBR to provide guardrails and improve the alignment of LLMs.
LLMs for knowledge acquisition and modeling in CBR (case extraction, vocabulary, retrieval).
Multimodal LLMs and CBR.
Applications of LLMs enhancing the capabilities of CBR systems.
Case studies showcasing successful implementations of CBR-LLM synergies.
Scalability and maintenance considerations and challenges in integrating CBR and LLMs.
Considerations for responsible AI (e.g., ethical issues, bias, trust).
Evaluation methodologies for integrations.
Future directions and emerging trends at the intersection of CBR and LLMs.
Submit your paper to participate in dynamic discussions, enlightening presentations, and excellent networking opportunities!
We invite submissions that provide novel insights, research findings, or practical applications in the following formats:
A) Full research papers (at least 10 and up to 16 pages, CEUR format): Original research contributions with comprehensive results. Accepted papers will be included in CEUR proceedings.
B) Short position papers (at least 5 and up to 9 pages, CEUR format): Preliminary findings, new research ideas, or conceptual frameworks. Accepted papers will be included in CEUR proceedings.
C) Statement of participation interest (at least 2 and up to 4 pages, CEUR format). These will not be included in the proceedings.
Authors who submit under categories B) and C) can submit a revised and longer version of their papers, upgrading their submission to a higher-level category A) or B). For these situations, the corresponding author must email organizers declaring their intention to submit an extended version by 23-Apr. These authors will then receive an expedited review of their initial submissions 18-Apr to guide them to submit the extended version.
Submit your paper in PDF format clicking this link https://easychair.org/my/conference?conf=iccbr2025, then select “make a new submission”, then select “2nd Workshop on Case-Based Reasoning and Large Language Model Synergies”.
Papers must be submitted in electronic form as PDF in the CEUR-WS template (https://github.com/yamadharma/ceurart/blob/master/README.md), the format required for the final camera-ready copy.
The accepted papers will be included in the ICCBR workshop proceedings, collecting workshop papers from all workshops part of ICCBR 2025. The workshop papers are indexed by DBLP and openly available. CBR-LLM workshop papers must use the given CEUR-WS LaTeX template files.
Submissions will undergo a single-blind peer review process.
Authors are encouraged to focus on clarity, conciseness, and relevance to the workshop themes.
Details on registration and participation will be provided on the ICCBR 25 website.
At least one author of each accepted paper must register for the workshop by the deadline for camera-ready copy.
