He shared about Mr. Seiheang’s excitement about joining this site visit alongside a senior branch manager.
Mr. Taing Seiheang shared his career aspirations from his school days and provided an insightful overview of Wing Bank's history. Established in 2009, Wing Bank began as a specialized bank. By 2015, it had grown to include exactly 4,000 agents across Cambodia. In 2019, Wing Bank transitioned into a commercial bank. As of 2024, there is a notable Wing Tower located on Monivong Boulevard, with a total of 20 Wing Bank branches in Cambodia, 10 of which are in Phnom Penh. He explained the rationale behind Wing Bank's transition to a commercial bank. The primary reason was to build a long-term reputation and increase their income.
Wing Bank facilitates money transactions both within Cambodia and internationally. Currently, there are a total of 11,000 agents in Cambodia. He also discussed the challenges in the banking sector, particularly the intense competition. Wing Bank addresses these challenges by continuously innovating and marketing their services effectively. Over the past 15 years, Wing Bank has focused on building its reputation, trust, and accessibility. Wing Bank offers a range of services including Wing Market, Wing KHQR (Bakong system), digital loans, and payment solutions for SMEs. These services facilitate transactions through digital means, mobile apps, and bill payments. Additionally, Mr. Seiheang mentioned that Wing Bank is under the leadership of H.E. Kith Meng, who is also the 100% shareholder. The transition from an agent-based model to a commercial bank has significantly expanded Wing Bank’s capabilities and offerings.
Mr. Taing Seiheang elaborated on the diverse range of products and services offered by Wing Bank. These include various deposit accounts such as savings, current, and fixed term deposits, as well as merchant accounts, cheque services, ATM & CRM services, and both digital and conventional loans. The brand network of Wing Bank encompasses premier launch, hall, master agent, the Wing app, and internet banking exclusively for corporate clients. Wing Bank’s deposit offerings are classified into personal, private, SME, and corporate banking categories. VIP customers with private accounts receive an additional 0.5% interest. SME customers can choose from GrowHigh Premier and High (Elite) accounts, while corporate clients have GreenCorp and RaceHigh accounts.
The new fixed term deposit rate is currently 0.5% for a 10-month term. The Save for Goal accounts are designed for specific savings goals, such as housing, vehicles, holidays, electronics, education, weddings, and jewelry, and are provided with free interest rates. Additionally, Wing Bank offers a payroll service that simplifies asset management for employees by ensuring timely salary payments directly to their accounts. Cheque services are processed within two days. Wing Bank provides credit and debit cards, including Visa credit cards (Gold and Platinum), and offers ATM services at all branches. Digital loans are available to staff and partners of Wing Bank. The bank’s remittance services offer both local and international money transfers free of charge, utilizing the SWIFT system.
