On 17th May 2022, CBFIs conducted a webinar under the topic “Impact Investing”, presented by Mr. Thibaud Ponchon who is an Investment Director in Asia for BlueOrchard. The purpose of this webinar is to understand the term ‘Impact Investing’ and private equity, to differentiate between Socially Responsible Investing (SRI); Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG); and Impact investing. Last but not least, we were about to know more about BlueOrchard.
BlueOrchard is a global asset management company focusing on impact investing. According to Mr. Ponchon, the definition of Impact Investing, is an investment made in companies or organizations with the intent to contribute measurable positive social or environmental impact, alongside a financial return. The difference between ESG, SRI & Impact Investing are ESG looks at the company's environmental, social, and governance practices alongside more traditional financial measures, while Socially responsible investing involves choosing or disqualifying investments based on specific ethical criteria and Impact investing is basically aims to help a business or organization produce a social benefit.
