CIMB Site Visit

On February 15, 2023, CamEd Banking and Finance Club (CBFIs) conducted a site visit to CIMB Bank which is located in Exchange Square building under the objective “How does CIMB do their business operation especially during Covid and how to overcome these challenges”. The presenters from CIMB Bank, were Mr. Yeun Phally, Mr. Heng Vuthy, Mr. Hou Nyremo, and Mrs. Bun Lynet presented under different topics.

At CIMB Bank, Mr. Yeun Phally is an L&D manager,  Mr. Heng Vuthy works as the head of finance, Mr. Hou Nyremo works in AVP, Business Finance & Analytics and Mrs. Bun Lynet is in  Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning. During the Covid, business operations resumed as normal by using up-to-date technology. The employees work remotely from home in order to prevent the Covid from spreading. Because of the care and support that the company has for their employees, CIMB Bank achieved a really high score in taking care of their employees compared to other companies in Cambodia which make them overcome these challenges without laying off any employees. 

Overall, we have learned a lot of things from the site visit. More importantly, we have achieved our learning objective which was to learn more about how CIMB does their business operations, especially during COVID 19 as well as some tips on how to overcome the challenges triggered by the pandemic. On top of that, we have also built a stronger connection with CIMB Bank as well as learn more about CIMB and the job opportunities there.
