The annual Perth International Open is Western Australia’s leading weekend chess event. It is a festival of 3 different tournaments run by the Chess Association of Western Australia. Whether you are a serious club player or a relative newcomer to chess, there will be something of interest for all.
The 2025 Perth International Open will be a 7 round Swiss. All players in the Open must be rated above 1600 FIDE or above 1500 ACF.
The 2025 Perth Minor is another 7 round Swiss tournament, running parallel to the Perth International Open. All players in the Minor must be rated below 1700 FIDE or below 1600 ACF.
The 2025 Perth Open Blitz will be held on the evening of Day 2, open to all players, including those not in the Open and Minor tournament.
The event will be hosted at the spacious Manning Hall, within the picturesque Manning Community Centre. The venue is situated just minutes away from the iconic Perth Zoo, numerous scenic parks, and vibrant dining options in South Perth and its surrounds. It has the makings of a memorable tournament.
