Generative Sheet Metal Design Overview Overview: The Generative Sheetmetal Design workbench introduces some new and enhanced functionality to the creation of sheet metal parts. Additionally in the new versions the Generative Sheet Design toolbar is replaced with several toolbars. This provides logical grouping of functions for enhanced accessibility. Recognize Walls Recognition in the Sheet Metal Design workbench has been replaced by Recognize. They are similar in that you can convert solids to sheet metal parts Recognize also converts existing sheet metal parts so that they may be recognized in the Generative Sheetmetal Design workbench.
Hopper Creation This new function that allows you to create a planar, conical, or cylindrical hopper using two planar profiles. Rolled Wall This new function creates rolled walls such as closed and open pipes, and pipes with flanges and cutouts. Flanged Hole Extruded Hole in the Sheet Metal Design workbench has been replaced by Flanged Hole. You can create a flanged hole by specifying the geometrical punch parameters similar to Point Stamp. Circular Stamp Point Stamp in the in the Sheet Metal Design workbench has been replaced by Circular Stamp. Flanged Cut Out Allows you to create a flanged cut out by specifying geometrical parameters. Dowel Definition Allows you to create a stamped dowel by specifying geometrical parameters. Longitudinal Chamfer Similar to the Chamfer function in the Sheet Metal Design workbench, the Chamfer Definition dialog has been redesigned. Flange Creation The Flange Definition dialog has been redesigned. Hem Creation The Hem Definition dialog has been redesigned. Tear Drop Creation The Tear Drop Definition dialog has been redesigned. Conical Bend Creation In Generative Sheetmetal Design, this function is now called Conical Bend instead of Conic Bend as in the Sheet Metal Design workbench. Though similar, the definition dialog has changed. Generative View Styles This function allows you create drawings using generative view styles which make it possible to create custom views. Deleted Functions Differences between old Sheet Metal Design and Generative Sheetmetal Design include the deletion of: Automatic Bends and Split.
