In Level 3 of the A.I. for Oceans activity, you trained A.I. Bot to identify fish that meet specific criteria, such as "silly" or "angry." While humans often rely on facial expressions like eyes and mouth to interpret emotions, you saw how A.I. Bot utilizes additional features such as color and body to make decisions. Consider your feelings about this approach. How would it feel if someone perceived your emotions, like "silly" or "angry," primarily based on your appearance, such as your clothing?
Machine learning has its potential pitfalls, and it can encounter issues, learning something that may be harmful.

Having lots of different and varied information for the computer to learn from is really important in machine learning. As we learn how to use machine learning to solve problems, we need to always be thinking about the following: What is the impact, what are serious consequences and who is being included or excluded?

When we talk about what's right or wrong, good or bad, we're talking about "ethics." As many apps using machine learning and A.I. are being used and developed, it is important to think about ethical consequences. Despite the apparent intelligence of machines, they are ultimately tools created by humans. Without proper guidelines in their creation or use, A.I.-powered machines can make unethical decisions, like showing bias based on someone's gender or race. The more we understand ethical concerns related to AI, the better we can ensure that AI benefits everyone in society.
