    What to Expect

For Integrative Massage Sessions

Upon booking, you will receive an intake form that must be completed and returned prior to your initial Integrative Massage session.  During your first appointment, we'll review your intake forms and chat about the best approach we can offer to help you reach your goals.  We'll then discuss a treatment plan together, as a team.

You will be fully draped for your session, with only the area being worked exposed.  Your therapist will check in with you during your massage about the pressure being used, and modify it as needed.  Some gentle hands-on therapeutic techniques may be interwoven with your massage.

In general, the ideal timing for a massage is once a month, but it may vary depending on the timing that works best for you.

For Comprehensive Bodywork Sessions

Attire:

Please wear, or change into, comfortable clothing for your appointment (tank top/ t-shirt/ sports bra/ shorts) as you will remain in it for your entire comprehensive bodywork session.

Initial Appointment:

When you book your first appointment with us, you will receive several forms. These must be completed prior to your initial session.

During your initial appointment, we'll review your intake forms and then evaluate how you are living in your body, including how your stand, sit, and move.

Following hands-on observations, we'll chat about the best approach we can offer to help you reach your goals, and we'll then discuss a treatment plan together, as a team.

During the remaining time, I will begin with some gentle manual treatment techniques that are best suited to you.  You may be given some exercises to do at home, until we follow up together.

Follow up appointments:

For each follow up appointment, we'll recap how you've been doing and repeat hands-on observations to see what has changed since your last visit.  That will determine what approaches will best suit you that day as you to move towards your treatment goals.  You may be given some exercises to do at home, until we follow up again.

How frequently should I book my appointments?

The treatment frequency is based on your specific needs.  In general, it is recommended to start with three sessions based 2-4 weeks apart, to see if this type of work is helpful to you.  If you are not seeing any results after three sessions, then we will chat about other practitioners or modalities that could be a better fit for you.  It is important that people receive the most effective care that works best for them.
