October 2, 2025 – Meeting Minutes

Attendance: Karen Bradford, Shelley Crouch, Sharon Durham, Shawn Huisinga Susie Mathews, Chrissy Squires, Librarian Gretchen Murphy

I. Call to Order.

II. The Consent Agenda. Motion by Squires, motion carried

IV. Imagination Library, Librarian Murphy

Currently 77 kids are signed up to participate in the Imagination Library program.

V. Programs and upcoming events, Librarian Murphy

Circulation is down some in September
October is the Library Crawl, information for interested individuals is available at front desk.
Abby will lead “Mother Goose on the Loose” at
- Wednesdays at ERBA Head Start for 14 kids
- Home School programs
- Fridays at 11 am at the library
Parents of kids enrolled in Head Start will be granted a FREE library card.
Library will participate in the Trunk or Treat at ERBA Head Start at 10 am October 31st
Organizing a “Hide the Book Worm” for the kids
October 28th, Jill and Matt Cheatham talk on their book “Rainy Day Miracle”
Short program by Hope Dennis from the Illinois Extension will be scheduled on an upcoming Tuesday.
Library will enter a scarecrow of Dolly Pardon with voting and entry fees going to the Casey VFW.

Home Coming Parade. Abby was only volunteer. Canceled participating, lack of time to prepare.
Christmas Light Parade, Friday, December 6, 2025. Entering a float, volunteers, ideas, materials, and a trailer with tow vehicle are needed.
the Historical Society is organizing the July 4, 2026 parade, the 2050 Anniversary of USA

After discussion motion was made by Durham to keep the price for non-resident library card at $70. Motion carried.

IV. Motion to adjourn at 5:54 pm, motion approved.
