Construction automation, safety, and education (case) Lab is a research center within the Department of Construction Science at Texas A&M University. case Lab focuses on theoretical and experimental investigations of human-technology interaction in construction, with a particular emphasis on two key areas: human-robot interaction; and human-technology education innovation.

Sep. Journal Paper on "Assessing Proxemics Impact on Human-robot Collaboration Safety in Construction: A Virtual Reality Study with Four-legged Robots" was published in the Elsevier Journal of Safety Science.
May CASE Lab published three conference papers on Human-Robot Interaction and Construction Education in The 60th Annual Associated Schools of Construction (ASC) International Conference (2024).
Apr. CASE Lab, in collaboration with Smart Construction and Intelligent Infrastructure Systems (SCIIS) Lab at NJIT, received a Collaborative Early Research Translation (CERT) Seed Grant Award, funded by NSF and NJIT Collaborative Research and Innovation Strategic Partnership (CRISP) investment plan to develop wearable devices for improving Human-Robot Interaction.
Apr. Our Ph.D. student, Didong Xu, received the O.N. Mitchell Jr. Endowed Graduate Fellowship during the 2024 Department of Construction Science Scholarship and Awards Banquet. Way to go, Didong!

Oct. CASE Lab has been awarded a seed grant from the Construction Industry Advisory Council (CIAC) in the Department of Construction Science at Texas A&M University to explore the use of metaverse for construction education.
Sep. Journal Paper on "Impact of Drone Presence on Construction Individuals Working at Heights" was published by the ASCE Journal of Construction Engineering and Management.

Mar. Dr. Albeaino received the Outstanding Reviewer Award from the ASCE Journal of Computing in Civil Engineering (2022-2023).
Feb. Dr. Albeaino received the Best Paper Runner-Up Award at the 59th Annual Associated Schools of Construction (ASC) International Conference that was held in Liverpool John Moores University, Liverpool, UK.
