Construction automation, safety, and education (case) Lab is a research center within the Department of Construction Science at Texas A&M University. At CASE Lab, we are driven by the mission to theoretically and experimentally investigate approaches that enhance the interaction between humans and robots on construction sites while leveraging technology to revolutionize construction education.

Apr. CASE Lab, in collaboration with Smart Construction and Intelligent Infrastructure Systems (SCIIS) Lab at NJIT, received a Collaborative Early Research Translation (CERT) Seed Grant Award, funded by NSF and NJIT Collaborative Research and Innovation Strategic Partnership (CRISP) investment plan to develop wearable devices for improving Human-Robot Interaction.
Apr. Our Ph.D. student, Didong Xu, received the O.N. Mitchell Jr. Endowed Graduate Fellowship during the 2024 Department of Construction Science Scholarship and Awards Banquet. Way to go, Didong!

Oct. CASE Lab has been awarded a seed grant from the Construction Industry Advisory Council (CIAC) in the Department of Construction Science at Texas A&M University to explore the use of metaverse for construction education.
Sep. Journal Paper on "Impact of Drone Presence on Construction Individuals Working at Heights" was published by the ASCE Journal of Construction Engineering and Management.

Jul. Journal paper on "Psychophysiological Impacts of Working at Different Distances from Drones on Construction Sites" was published by the ASCE Journal of Computing in Civil Engineering.
Mar. Dr. Albeaino received the Outstanding Reviewer Award from the ASCE Journal of Computing in Civil Engineering (2022-2023).
Feb. Dr. Albeaino received the Best Paper Runner-Up Award at the 59th ASC Annual International Conference that was held in Liverpool John Moores University, Liverpool, UK.

Dec. Journal Paper on "Quantitative and Qualitative Assessment of Geometric Feature Accuracy Using a UAS-Lidar System for Building Surveying Applications" was published by the ASCE Journal of Architectural Engineering.
Aug. Journal Paper on "Online Site Visits using Virtual Collaborative Spaces: A plan-reading activity on a digital building site" was published in the Elsevier Journal of Advanced Engineering Informatics.
Mar. Dr. Albeaino received the Best Paper Runner-Up Award at the 58th ASC Annual International Conference that was held in Georgia Tech, Atlanta GA.
