ABOUT US
In 2015, CARTHAGE VOLUNTEER GHANA established The Surf &volunteer program with the aim of assisting new surf travelers in the town while also supporting the surrounding local community.
CARTHAGE VOLUNTERR GHANA is dedicated to designing, coordinating, and implementing targeted development projects in small communities across Ghana. While the range and scope of our initiatives are broad and evolving, our goal is to help various Ghanaian communities achieve sustainable development and improve their quality of life. Currently, our organization focuses on projects related to education, healthcare, sanitation, and environmental efforts. Through collaborations with local partners, project facilitators, students, and volunteers, we work with communities to address their needs in a responsible manner.
At Carthage Volunteer Ghana, we highly value the active participation of volunteers as it enhances and enriches our operations and activities. We foster close collaboration with the local community, and our team members are fully immersed in all aspects of their assigned projects, from planning to implementation. We encourage volunteers to contribute their ideas and skills across various areas of our projects. In return, we expect volunteers to approach their tasks with dedication, respect for community members, and an appreciation for local knowledge.
The Surf & volunteer program offers a unique opportunity to enjoy oneself while making a positive impact on the host community by combining surfing and volunteering. Volunteers have the option to stay either in the Volunteer House or with host families, where they are introduced to Ghanaian hospitality and rich culture. The host families and the local community provide an environment that allows volunteers to immerse themselves in a new culture and way of life, fostering mutual learning, personal growth, and a transformed perspective on our place in the world.
Our ultimate goal is for volunteers to leave with a sense of having made a positive contribution to the development of Ghana and its people. We hope that volunteers recognize the hard work and dedication of each individual in the community, and that they themselves have been appreciated for their efforts.
