About me

Carolina Tripp Barba, received her degree from the Faculty of Informatics of the Universidad Autónoma de Sinaloa (Mexico) in 2006, and her MSc and PhD degrees in telecommunication engineering from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), Barcelona, Spain, in 2009 and 2013 respectively. 

In 2009, I joined the Telematic Services (SERTEL) research group in the Telematics Engineering Department of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) in Barcelona. The research of SERTEL focuses its activity on the development and proposal of telematic services in telecommunication networks. 

Carolina was the recipient of a FI-AGAUR fellowship by the Comissionat per a Universitats i Recerca del DIUE from the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Social European Budget and was part of the "Programa Doctores Jóvenes en Áreas Estratégicas" from the University of Sinaloa, Mexico.

Currently is a full-time research professor at Facultad de Informática Mazatlán, Universidad Autónoma de Sinaloa (UAS), Mexico. Member of the research group "Sistemas Innovadores Aplicados al Contexto Educativo (UAS-CA-295)".

Her research activity is focused on VANETs (Vehicular Ad hoc Networks), wireless networks, intelligent transport systems (ITS). Also, the introduction of electric and autonomous vehicles in smart city services, that include environmental protection, energy efficiency and economic sustainability in a new urban paradigm which aims to improve quality of life and create new services for the people. In a smart city, infrastructure, services and technology come together to shape a town designed for the needs of its habitants.
