This Privacy Policy describes how Carooa collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our mobile application and website at carooa.com. By using Carooa, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you register or sign in, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and profile picture if you sign in with Google or Facebook.
Location Information
We collect your approximate location when you add items to your cart or proceed to checkout. This is used only to check available courier services for delivery to your area through Shiprocket. We do not track your location in the background.
Order and Purchase Information
We collect details about the products you purchase, your delivery address, and order history. Payment transactions are processed securely by Razorpay. We do not store your card number, UPI ID, or any payment credentials on our servers.
Device Information
We collect device identifiers and push notification tokens to send you order updates and offers through Firebase Cloud Messaging.
Usage Information
We collect information about how you use the app such as pages visited, products viewed, and searches performed, to improve your experience.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to create and manage your account, process your orders and payments, check courier availability based on your location, send order confirmations and shipping updates, send promotional offers and coupon codes (you can opt out anytime), improve the app and fix issues, and comply with legal obligations.
3. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share your information only with the following trusted third-party services required to operate the app.
Razorpay - Payment processing
Shiprocket - Shipping and courier services
Firebase by Google - Push notifications, authentication, crash reporting
Google Sign-In - Social login
Facebook Login - Social login
Each of these services has their own privacy policy governing how they handle your data.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on secure servers. All data transmitted between the app and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS. We take reasonable steps to protect your information from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.
5. Your Rights
You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, correct inaccurate information in your account, delete your account and all associated data, opt out of promotional notifications at any time from app settings, and withdraw location permission at any time from your device settings.
6. Account Deletion
You can delete your account at any time from the app by going to Profile, then Settings, then Delete Account. When you delete your account, all your personal data including order history, saved addresses, and account details will be permanently removed from our systems within 30 days.
7. Children's Privacy
Carooa is a car accessories marketplace. While our app is accessible to all ages, it is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes through the app or by email. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
