I miss my radio show dearly and can’t wait to get back on the air. Until then this playlist will look back at some of the songs and artists I played on the airwaves. If you tuned in once or every week- thank you, that means everything to me.

“I Like America and America Likes Me”- The 1975 (A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships) Played on: January 28, 2020
- This was the very first song I played on air. I remember that show well. I was so nervous! I wanted to put on a good show for the listeners, and I like to think that the few shows I got to do this semester were enjoyed by listeners.
“Fast in My Car”- Paramore (Paramore)
First played on: February 4, 2020
- “Fast in My Car” is a fun song. It makes you want to dance, which is why it found it’s way on the first half of two of my playlists. I feel like it helped set the tone for the rest of the show when it was on a playlist.
“Fake Blood”- Heart Attack Man (Fake Blood)
First played on: February 4, 2020
- Very few shows did not have Heart Attack Man on the lineup. After seeing them live in December I just had to play this song on my show.
“Third Degree”- Movements (Feel Something)
First played on: January 28, 2020
- This is one of my favorites of Feel Something, so I felt like I had to play it on my first show. This song comes on, and you already know who’s song it is. Patrick Miranda’s vocals just add to the impact this song has had on the scene.
“killing boys”- Halsey (Manic)
Played on: February 11, 2020
- Definitely a favorite of mine off of Manic and it just fit so well into the first half of my Valentine’s Day playlist, as that was the “loves me not” half. It’s a fun song and if you missed hearing it on my show, I recommend you check it out yourself.
“Liquid” (ft. John Floreani)- Boston Manor (single)
First played on: February 25, 2020
- Now this song is part of Boston Manor’s third album GLUE, but prior to that it was a stand alone single. This song was unlike anything Boston Manor had released at this point, which is why I loved to play it. It showed a different side of a band I have grown to love over the last year.
“Thinking of the Sun”- Small Talks (A Conversation Between Us)
Played on: February 18, 2020
- While I always had Small Talks on the airwaves, I wish I got to play this specific song more. It’s unlike anything I’ve heard before, and unlike the other tracks on it’s respected album.
“Tune You Out”- Knuckle Puck (20/20)
First played on: February 25, 2020
- As soon as I could play a new KP track I did. It’s a different side of them then what was seen on Copacetic and Shapeshifter, but it’s a side I still wanted more people to hear. Now some time has passed that it’s been announced this song will be on their new album 20/20. And you best believe that I’ll be playing more songs from this album as soon as it’s released.
“Wilson (Expensive Mistakes)”- Fall Out Boy (MANIA)
Played on: March 10, 2020
- One of my favorite songs off MANIA that I had wanted to play on-air for a while. Good thing I did because little did I know I wouldn’t be getting another chance to this semester. While that’s a little somber, I do truly love this song and if you didn’t give this song a chance when MANIA first came out, give it another chance now.
“London Boy”- Taylor Swift (Lover)
Played on: February 18, 2020
- This one brings a smile to my face. It’s because I wasn’t sure what Taylor Swift song to play and I asked a fellow dj to pick for me. This is what she chose. It’s a nice memory to have because she’s a senior. With everything going on, I’m not sure the next time I’ll see her in person.
“Gold and Green”- Slaughter Beach, Dog (Birdie)
First played on: January 28, 2020
- This is a favorite of mine off Birdie. It’s so cheery! I always felt it could brighten up a playlist and loved adding it into my show. I look forward to the next time I get to play it on air.
“Washington Square Park (acoustic)”- The Wonder Years (Burst and Decay Volume II)
First played on: February 18, 2020
- This song found its way on two of my playlists before I was off air for the semester. It was always a nice way to close my show out. It’s not too loud and fast, but it’s not so slow you want to change the song. If you saw my “The World is Falling Apart” playlist you know that this song has been getting a lot of play in my personal life.
“Souvenir”- Sunsleeper (You Can Miss Something and Not Want It Back)
First played on: January 28, 2020
- After seeing these guys live at the end of December I couldn’t stop listening to them. “Souvenir” is one of my favorite songs of their debut and getting to play it on my show was something I loved. I got to play the artists I loved and hopefully introduce someone else to them. There’s nothing more rewarding than that.
“Long Exposure”- A Will Away (Soup)
Played on: March 10, 2020
- A Will Away always had at least one spot if not two in every playlist I made for my show. “Long Exposure” was the last A Will Away song I played for the semester, I just didn’t know it at the time. However, I feel it was fitting that it was this song. It’s one of my favorites, off it’s respected ep and out of their discography. And after everything that’s been happening in the world, the line “this too shall pass” has resonated with me more than ever before.
Future Teens- “Happy New Year” (Breakup Season)
Played on: January 28, 2020
- This was the song that closed out my very first show. So much has changed since the end of January. If anything this song has become more relevant and personally, I think I’ve played more now than I did back then. It’s a song that keeps me sane, but even more so, it’s a stand-out track that deserves a listen.
