I started out in classical ecological fieldwork but have since expanded into the fields of adaptability and phenotypic plasticity in changing environments. I'm also interested in sexual selection, mate choice and the spread of emerging diseases like the Chytrid fungus, which puts a lot of pressure on amphibians. Recently I've been getting into conservation genomics and genomics in general. The field of genomics is particularly vibrant and rapidly evolving, offering promising avenues of research, particularly in the context of amphibian genomics. This is due to the fact that amphibian genomes are notably large and comprise a considerable proportion of repetitive elements.
My work has taken me to some incredible places, from South America to Asia, New Zealand and various European countries. I've done fieldwork in Germany and Austria in the temperate regions, as well as in Ecuador, Thailand and French Guiana in the tropics. I really enjoy the exchange with local communities.
