My name is Windi, and I am a registered nurse whose journey has been shaped not only by my profession, but by the communities that have supported and inspired me along the way.
I chose to serve as President of the Carolinas Region Alumni Association for Phi Theta Kappa because this organization has truly changed my life. What began as an academic honor through Phi Theta Kappa became a journey that shaped who I am today—not just as a student, but as a leader and as a person.
Through PTK, I found more than opportunities—I found people who saw potential in me before I fully saw it in myself. Along the way, I built friendships that have grown into something deeper: a support system, a community, and in many ways, a chosen family. These are the people who have stood beside me through challenges, celebrated every victory, and reminded me that I never have to navigate life alone.
That sense of belonging is what drives me to serve. I want others to experience the same encouragement, connection, and growth that PTK has given me. Stepping into this role is my way of giving back to a community that has poured so much into my life.
As President, I hope to create spaces where alumni and members feel connected, supported, and inspired—where relationships continue to grow long after graduation, and where every person knows they are part of something bigger than themselves. I believe deeply in the power of this community to uplift, to lead, and to change lives, just as it has changed mine.
