Brandy Steele has been a member of Phi Theta Kappa since 2014 and was actively involved in her home chapter, Alpha Nu Sigma at Horry Georgetown Technical College on the Conway and Grand Strand campuses in South Carolina until she graduated with an A.A.S. degree in accounting in 2015. She continued her educational journey with Columbia College through an adjunct program offered on the Grand Strand campus and earned her undergraduate Bachelor of Art in Community and Organizational Leadership in 2017. She continued to provide guidance for her home chapter as an alumnus up until her and her husband relocated to the Charlotte, North Carolina region after graduation in August 2017. During her bachelor’s program, she also became a member of the Alpha Omega Carolinas Region Alumni Association (March 2016) and was appointed as the Alumni Treasurer for the 2016-2018 term. In March 2018, her role as officer came to an end to allow her to advance to that of Alumni Advisor, a role she still holds today. In 2018, Brandy made the decision to return to school to complete her master’s degree in accountancy with an online program option offered by her dream institution, the University of Oklahoma (Go, Sooners!). She completed her MAcc in the Summer of 2020. In 2019, she joined the Carolinas Regional Advisory Board as the Alumni Association Representative and has been a member ever since, providing valuable feedback and guidance for the programming needs of the region in conjunction with the growing pains of change. She continues to stay as involved in the region as she can to give back to those who helped her find her voice and she finds resolution in helping the next generation of scholars find their path.
Currently, Brandy works in accounting for a large family-owned plastic pipe and cast-iron manufacturing company in Charlotte, NC that is celebrating its 125th anniversary in 2026. In her free time, you can find her working in her small crafting business shed creating memories, attending craft fair events, facilitating and assisting with alumni-related needs, and enjoying trips to the park or lake with her husband and five dogs or hanging out with her four cats. She also has two bonus children and 3 bonus grandchildren. She loves spending time at the beach and listening to the waves, weekends in the mountains with friends and attending Renaissance Festivals. During football season, you will find her rooting for her Green Bay Packers (Go Pack Go!) and OU Sooners (Horns DOWN!), and the Texas Rangers during baseball season.
