I am a discipline-based education researcher and Postdoctoral Fellow with Elli Theobald in the Department of Biology at University of Washington - Seattle. I use quantitative and qualitative methods to design and test interventions in undergraduate biology to support students in their learning and affective domains. My current research investigates the extent to which content is connected to societal or cultural issues in college biology classrooms and the impact of including such content on student learning and affective outcomes. My additional research interests include assessing the extent to which instructors act as relatable role models for their students and understanding classroom practices that promote equitable student outcomes.
Outside of research, you can find me trying new recipes, exploring outside, or honing my sewing and pottery skills.
