I am a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellow at the Centre for European Studies and Comparative Politics of Sciences Po, and an Assistant Professor of Administrative Law at the Department of Public Law of Maastricht University. I hold a PhD from the University of Pavia and, prior to joining Maastricht University, was a postdoctoral researcher at Tilburg University and held visiting positions at various academic institutions (University of Bristol, University of Edinburgh, KU Leuven, and Sciences Po).

My research lies at the cross-roads of public law, policy, and governance studies, and is driven by the key question of how governments can work together across and within levels to address urgent problems connected to globalization, such as urbanization, unfair competition and climate emergency? Within this broad question, my research develops along two main lines: i) law and the city, studying how law contributes to creating urban spaces and their governance, and vice-versa, how urban socio-economic dynamics influence the application and effects of legal instruments; ii) EU state aid and competition law, with a specific focus on the institutional organization and functioning of these areas.

As part of my teaching, I co-coordinate a bachelor course on “Comparative Administrative Law” at Maastricht University, and coordinate also a master course on "Law and Cities in Ecological Transition" at Sciences Po.

I am a qualified lawyer admitted to the Milan Bar and was a Blue Book trainee at the European Commission (DG for Competition).
