Going to college can be a new and scary experience, but it also could be an adventure. From making new friends to sharing a dorm with a roommate, college definitely has a plethora of different experiences. It's important, however, to properly juggle your new life and environment while still striving for high marks on tests. Fortunately, there are many good ways to manage life in a new environment, while practicing good study habits that you can practice at high school before leaving for college. For starters, you may want to create a checklist for yourself. This will help you keep organized while reminding you of important dates or assignments to remember. Secondly, carve out set times for yourself each day to be fully dedicated to study time. This will help you to keep engaged with classwork while still making room for other hobbies and activities. Joining a club or an organization can be a good way to make friends and engage in fun activities. Additionally, joining a church or a religious group could be a great way to meet with others. Taking on volunteering opportunities can help to expose you to more experiences. If work ever gets too stressful, remember that it's okay to take a break and go for a walk. Lastly, cutting out unhealthy daily habits such as procrastination could prove very helpful to your overall work ethic and help you to maintain focus better when you get to college. Although going to college is a really exciting and important milestone for many, It's also important to make the best of high school by introducing yourself to better habits and opportunities.
