After a crazy and unusual year, Carey resumed to its almost-normal way of life. The students at Carey were able to experience a pep rally after a year of not having one! This year’s pep rally was certainly a special one. On October 15, students made their way outside to participate in one of our school’s very exciting pep rallies. This year’s pep rally included amazing performances from our cheer teams, marching band, color guard, and Pirettes. The marching band played their three pieces (Come On Feel the Noize, The Kids Aren’t Alright, and Shut Up and Dance), while the Pirettes and color guard performed. Our cheer teams also put on an amazing performance. This year’s pep rally was filled with competitions too! Our track stars ran a sprint against our very own Seahawk. Some of our favorite teachers competed against the students in activities, like a mummy-wrap. The soccer teams had a penalty shot contest with some of the teachers as well. Our varsity cheerleaders and varsity football players came together, and the cheerleaders got to play out one of our football teams most well-known plays. Each and every one of our sports teams here at Carey got to be recognized in front of the school at the pep rally. Their coaches mentioned every players' name, highlights from the season, and a short message to the seniors on the team. The junior high and junior varsity teams were on the side cheering on their varsity teams. Our pep rally this year was one of a kind. There was a ton of student involvement, and maybe this is because it was one of the first times the entire Carey student body was all back in one place since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. This pep rally was not only a way to start up the 2021-2022 school year, but it also reunited the student body here at Carey. The students were very excited to be back and to have a pep rally. The stands were full of cheering and excitement. I asked a couple peers and teachers how they felt about this year's pep rally. The general consensus was that this year's pep rally was amazing. So many people have commented on how much they enjoyed seeing teacher and student involvement. The students here at Carey are very excited to see what the next pep rally will bring!
