Spreading Positivity Around the Holidays

The holidays are the happiest time of year for many people. There’s colorful decorations, fun traditions, and of course, plenty of gift giving. However, many people's problems don’t just magically disappear around the holidays. It’s still important to remember that we should be kind to others, especially during such a time of giving. I would like to suggest various ways you can be kind to your community, and the individuals in it.
Donate: Whether it be to a toy drive or a food bank, donating around the holidays is especially important. Many struggling families can’t enjoy the holidays because they have to worry about just getting by. By donating to a toy drive, you can help make sure that every kid gets something special for Christmas. And by donating to a food bank, it makes sure no one goes hungry at this special time of year. Donating to these causes is very important, because many people are in need of these services and it can help them have an unforgettable Christmas.
Spend Time With Your Family: I know everyone tends to be wrapped up in their own life and their own responsibilities, but around Christmas, you should make plenty of time to spend with your family. Watch a movie together, make cookies, have hot chocolate. Doing all of these things is important to make memories with your family and it shows that you care. You should always make time for your family, because that’s what makes the holidays really special.
Getting Gifts For Others: Giving always feels better than receiving. Giving a gift is really important, but it doesn’t have to be expensive. Even something small or homemade can go a long way. The thought really does count, and a gift is just one of many ways to show that you care about the most important people in your life.
Various Kind Actions You Can Do: There are many small actions you can do that have huge impacts. You can hold the door open for someone, or maybe let someone go ahead of you in line. You can also give someone a compliment. Compliments go a super long way, so saying it can make someone’s day, or even make their week. Basically, you should just keep in mind the little things you can do to spread some kindness around you.
Being Kind To Friends: If one of your friends is going to be alone for the holidays this year, you should do something special with them. Maybe you could make your own new holiday tradition with that person. This shows that you care about your friends, and see them almost as family. Actions like this go a long way and can really show that person you care about them a lot.
And those are just some of the things you can do during the holidays. But there’s plenty more things you can do as well. Overall, I think what’s important to remember is that being nice during the holidays is great, but you should be kind all year around as well. Give a stranger a compliment, spend time with friends or family who want to see you, and just be a thoughtful person.
And with all of that being said, Happy Holidays!
